Epworth Washroom Renovations

Yes finally...we are getting round to replacing the washrooms out by the hogans. Due to the overwhelming popularity of the new bathrooms at the Epworth Dining Hall, some of your summer camp feedback told us to do something about those wash houses.

So, in the fall of 2006, with the help of Habitat for Humanity, we demolished, redesigned and rebuilt Washroom 1. The new plumbing and interior will be completed in the spring of 2007, just in time for Open House on May 6th, but the work is not free... we are blessed to have the Habitat folks donating their time along with Lowes donating much of the material, but we are still looking for donations to help us complete the work. Folks have been very generous with their dollars, but we are still looking at a total cost of approx. $8 - 10K for each washroom.
If you have been looking to make a donation to a very worthwhile cause - This is it! The existing washrooms were over 40 years old, beyond simple repair, and not very pleasant. After the completion of Washroom 1, our next goal is to replace Washroom 2 for for the summer of 2008. So, this will be the last summer in which you can experience one of the oldest buildings at the camp, because in the fall of 2007 the existing Washroom 2 will be torn down and replaced. We think you will love these new ones, for they will be cleaner, have much better lighting, be much more spacious, and have cubby holes in which campers can leave their toiletries, etc.
